Did your garage
door opener suddenly stop working correctly? What could cause the problem could
not be determined. This is uncomfortable indeed! Thankfully, we have some
answers here. We know how irritating a non-functional garage door opener can be, particularly when you still park your
vehicle inside. Below, we have outlined several common culprits and what you
can do about them behind garage door opener failures. As usual, please do not
hesitate to contact our team if you have any questions!
Remote Control Does Not Work
Wrong
Programming – The door need specific programming to
function properly on your wall-mounted keypad and remote control, and sometimes
it may fail to program. Contact a professional who can reprogram your system if
you have tried all other things and your opener won't work yet.
Garage Door Opener Does Not Work
This must be the
number one problem for everyone, and it can be fixed easily. Chain openers or
door openers with drive shields are probably not supported by a lubricant for
friction reduction. Apply a generous quantity of silicone lubricant or garage
door spray lube to the whole length of the garage opener and wipe the excess.
Noise
Loose hardware,
shabby pieces, or crumpled sections – all of these troubles are common
problems. Noise from your garage door usually means that you have to lubricate.
Try to apply lubrication directly on the squeaky part if you notice any unusual
nuisance.
Cracked Sealant
Weather sealant
prevents water from running out, seals air leaking problem and reduces the
noise of streets. You may be required to replace your sealant if the sealant is
broken or if you notice cracks and seams. Enter the old sealant from the
weather and set up a new one. You can find weather sealants at your local home
improvement store.
Door Opens and Closes Immediately
If that happens,
the fountains at the top of the door are likely to have to be replaced. You only
may have to replace the broken ones if the garage
door spring is replaced in the last three years.
Note: To save on costs, we
advise that you replace all springs simultaneously because the cost of the
garage door repair can be doubled by replacing the broken springs separately.
Door Closes and Opens Immediately
The alignment of
your photo-eye door could be problematic. The photo-eyes are small plastic
devices, which are placed on both sides of the garage door as safety features.
Search for a
flashing green light on the device to confirm that the photo-eyes are working
properly. Otherwise, make sure to check if the photo eyes are obstructed by
debris or other obstructions.
You need to
measure up from ground to the center of a photo-eye, after confirming that your
picture-eyes haven't been wrong. This time, take another measurement from the
wall to the photo-eye's center. On the other picture eye do the same. Finally change
the picture eyes to ensure they are aligned, according to the measurements you
have taken. At Windsor Garage Door Services we will be at your doorstep to
fulfill the requirements when the garage door spring is not working.
